Discovering Journals on the UGC-CARE List: A Guide

What is UGC-CARE Approved Journals?

The University Grants Commission - Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics (UGC-CARE) is an initiative in India that curates and maintains a list of recognized academic journals across various disciplines. The UGC-CARE Journal List serves as a valuable resource for academic institutions, researchers, and scholars in the country, helping them identify reputable journals for publishing their research work. The list is periodically updated to reflect changes in the academic publishing landscape and includes journals that meet specific quality criteria set by UGC-CARE.
Researchers and institutions often refer to the UGC-CARE Journal List to determine whether a particular journal is eligible for publications, promotions, or other academic purposes. It is essential to consult the latest version of the list, as it may change from year to year, and journals may be added or removed based on their quality and relevance to academic research.

What is UGC CARE List of Journals?

The UGC-CARE list is a list of journals that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved. The UGC established the Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics (CARE) to identify, monitor, and maintain a list of quality journals across disciplines.    Arts and Humanities
   Multidisciplinary
The UGC-CARE list was established to promote quality research, academic integrity, and publication. The UGC-CARE list includes all Scopus indexed and WoS indexed journals. However, it is generally considered that Scopus indexed journals are better than the UGC CARE listed journals.
